My Opinion of Romanov by Nadine Brandes
The history books say I died. They don't know the half of it. Anastasia “Nastya” Romanov was given a single mission: to smuggle an ancient spell into her suitcase on her way to exile in Siberia. It might be her family's only salvation.
My Look:
Honestly, this book is an easy five stars, and it's at the top of the book list for me! It's clean, it gives a view of the Romanov story with a fantasy touch, and personally this book I would recommend it for 14 and up and that was the age I was when I got this and that's probably a good age anyway if you want to understand the story. I have two very important things to say... ALWAYS in the romance scenes remember she is bald, nothing wrong with being bald lol, but it wasn't a good bald they were not in a good environment, sorry just they only mentioned it like 3 times and when you imagine it in your head she looks pretty, but she is dirty hair falling out etc. And it makes the romance more heartwarming, lol. I got to this book late in my book lover friend group and honestly, it didn't feel late because we still bring up this book because It's just so good. Also for people who are worried this book is weird or like too much, I will say it could be a touch violent to some readers, that's why I recommend 14/13. And also if you're not used to historical fiction, this is the book to get you started, and she also has many other books that are equal to this, so check them out.
